Bromley Academy visit Subfrantic Studios

A group of young people from our Bromley Academy programme visited Subfrantic Studios on Sunday 17th July. The Academy programme runs weekly in term time and brings talented young people between the ages of 12 and 17 together to create original music.

Phil Jack, the session’s sound engineer, guided the group through the recording process and explained how to use the equipment.

The group had the chance to record two tracks they had been working on - recording vocals, bass guitar and piano in the studio. Our ArtsTrain music leaders, James and Naomi, also offered support and coached the young people throughout the day.

One parent commented after the trip that their young person “really enjoyed the day, took lots of photos, and were telling us all about the equipment, the set up, and the actual recording. I'm so grateful to ArtsTrain for giving them yet another memorable and useful experience. And to the team for their continued commitment and enthusiasm.”

Naomi, one of the music leaders on the trip was really proud of the group:

“I felt like the young people were really in their element. A couple of them hadn't ever been to a recording studio prior to this but they really embraced it and gave it their all."

We want to give a huge thanks to Phil and the team at Subfrantic Studios for hosting the session at the studio and giving our young people a chance to record and hear their songs in a professional setting. You can listen below to the final tracks:
